What have you done new with your children?

I feel like in the first year of Skylar’s life I tracked so many “firsts”, now that she is 2, it’s been a lot less, and less celebrated, which is sad.

It’s not often that you get a surprise media drop that actually involves a really fun activity. We were sent a gorgeous little Fairy Garden for us to put together. My toddler was totally intrigued and was fascinated by the tiny coffee that she pretended to drink and make me do the same.

Honestly, I had never thought about gardening with Skylar, not even once. Too worried that she would get in the way, or cut off a toe or throw stones, or pick up a spider… all those neurotic mom thoughts that run through my mind…

Guess what… none of the above occurred…

It did not take a lot to persuade Skylar to “help”, delighted to be outside and able to get dirty and play in the mud, with stones, water and new PINK spade and rake made her day. Sprinkling the white stones showed her little OCD personality as each stone needed to be right in place.

I really enjoyed this activity and so did Skylar, I actually can’t wait to do this again.
