Can you see her excitement…

With Skylar we never did a gender revel and decided to just tell the family, we were too excited to hold it in. This time around, I wanted to do something special for this little one. I sometimes think the second, third, pregnancy etc… does not get as much excitement, as parents and family know you have been there done that already. But it’s not really fair on that little one to have even 1% less excitement than the first.

(Skylar wore a new outfit from Rosie-Bee and summer sandals by Shooshoos)

I have been super busy at work, with lots going on, and honestly, no time to plan a big “WOW” gender reveal party – instead we opted for a low key, high tea at my Dad’s home to announce to our parents and the great grandparents the gender of our little one on the way.

The table décor and treats were kept to a minimum, simple white, creams, natural woods and flowers. I baked a cake for the reveal… with the colour hidden inside.

It was super fun to have a toddler helper in the kitchen as we did our own version of “baker baker”, Skylar assisted in the pouring, mixing, and most importantly the taste testing…. she is a little cake obsessed.
