We finally visited Flag Animal Farm – the best in SA

It’s all about timing…

I have been wanting to take Skylar to the Flag Animal Farm just outside of Ballito for the longest time. We had just not taken the leap. Today we decided spontaneously to jump into our Ford Everest and head up the coast.

Why do I mention timing? Well Wyatt a few months ago would never have enjoyed it as much. Today both kids had a blast and participated together instead of the eldest and the youngest being a spectator.

It was a sweltering 30+ degree day, we packed the sunscreen, hats and costumes, to take advantage of their new splash park.

YES!!! You read it right… the Flag Animal Farm now has their very own splash park, they are still adding more to the new section. The kids had a blast, it took them a few minutes to get used to it and then it was hard to get them to stop. It was a wonderful reprieve from the heat.

Flag Animal Farm is large and well kept, and very well run. From the moment you arrive you are welcomed by friendly faces.

You can take your own picnic basket if you like, they have a number of places to sit and enjoy the surroundings. Plus two enclosed areas that have covered play areas for smaller kids. We took full advantage of this with Wyatt and could relax while he ran and explored.

We loved the large enclosures for the animals and many are free roaming and friendly and not afraid when you come up close.

They also have a little coffee shop with a range of meals for young and old, if you don’t take a picnic basket.
