Are your kids jumping off the furniture? Getting restless??
Here in South Africa and many parts of the world we are in lockdown, my kids have been home since the 16 March. They miss their friends and school, climbing the jungle gyms, sliding, monkey bars and more. They are missing their swimming lessons and Skylar her ballet.
It is important to encourage your children to run, jump and play as much as they can to work out all that pent up energy.
If you are lucky to have a yard, make use of it – go outside and run with your kids, set task for them outside (even sweeping the driveway can be fun), ride bikes and draw a hopscotch game with chalk on the driveway. The Olymics may be moved till next year, but who said you could not have your own mini-games at home? Grab the hool hoops, balls and set out all the plush toys as the audience and get the whole family involved.
For rainy days, and those who dont have a garden or live in a flat you can try replicate activities within the home that won’t cause too much of a rukus.
If you do have WiFi at home add to your daily routine some YouTube workouts to get the blood flowing and bodies moving. I am unable to go to the gym (obviously) so I take advantage of the kids workingout and join in.
